Did someone say outdoor activities? Yes indeed! Kinomap, the leading app for interactive indoor training, now introduces an exciting new feature: outdoor activity recording. Users can now track and record their outdoor sessions in cycling, running, or rowing/kayaking—turning the app into a fully functional GPS tracker. Just in time for the sunny season!
A New Dimension for Outdoor Training
This innovation allows athletes to relive their sessions via the Map mode on the Kinomap app. Whether you’re passionate about cycling, running, or water sports, you can now enjoy a seamless training experience by riding, running, or rowing on your own recorded routes—indoors! This smooth transition between outdoor and indoor workouts is a game-changer for anyone looking to boost their performance or prepare for upcoming races.

With this update, Kinomap is no longer just an indoor training app—it becomes a complete training solution, suited for athletes of all levels and disciplines. Whether you’re analyzing post-session stats or simulating your favorite route, this feature brings you unmatched training flexibility.
Hybrid Training for Greater Motivation
One of the key strengths of this new feature is its integration into Kinomap’s multi-mode challenges and personal goals. Now, your outdoor efforts count just like your indoor ones, allowing you to track progress and rack up kilometers no matter where or how you train.
This hybrid approach creates greater continuity in physical preparation. No need to choose between indoor and outdoor—Kinomap lets you do both, helping you take advantage of every opportunity to stay active. This holistic tracking keeps motivation high all year long, regardless of weather conditions or time constraints.
Outdoor and Indoor Training: A Winning Combo for Competition Prep
Recording outdoor sessions is also a strategic advantage for athletes prepping for competitions or personal challenges. A cyclist, for example, can record an outdoor route and later train on it indoors to anticipate tricky sections and fine-tune their pacing.
Runners and triathletes will especially benefit, as they can visualize and simulate their race routes on a treadmill or home trainer before race day. This lets them hone race strategies and test pacing plans in a controlled environment.
A More Immersive, Personalized Training Experience
Kinomap has always prioritized interactivity and immersion in training. This new feature takes it a step further, giving athletes a more tailored and enriched experience. Users can view recorded routes with detailed data, compare performances, and adjust training plans accordingly.
Thanks to geolocation technology and smartphone sensors, outdoor activity tracking is accurate and reliable. The app provides in-depth stats such as speed, distance, and duration. You can also enhance performance analysis by pairing with heart rate monitors or power meters.
A Strong Commitment to Our Users
“With this new feature, Kinomap reinforces its commitment to providing an interactive and complete training experience tailored to various goals. We aim to give our users the freedom to train anytime, anywhere, while valuing their real-life efforts—whether outdoor or indoor,” says Philippe Moity, CEO of Kinomap.
This innovation reflects Kinomap’s mission to support all athletes—amateurs and experts alike—in staying motivated and progressing toward their goals. The app is designed to be a versatile, easy-to-use, and powerful tool that meets the expectations of today’s athletes.
