Discover Kinomap‘s multiplayer mode with the new regular sessions.
Ever heard of Kinomap’s multiplayer mode? New regular public multiplayer sessions are now available! If you liked the old multiplayer sessions, you won’t be disappointed with this new feature.
What is the multiplayer mode?
Multiplayer sessions are sports meetings at a specific time during which Kinomap users from all over the world challenge each other live on the same video course. Fun and entertaining, these sessions are even more motivating when they’re shared! There are two types of multiplayer sessions: public and private.
What’s the difference between the public and the private sessions?
Private and public multiplayer sessions each have their own specific characteristics. One is more flexible, the other more official. Do you know the difference? We’ll explain it all to you!
Public multiplayer sessions
Public multiplayer sessions are events organized by Kinomap and its partners, accessible to all platform users. These sessions are planned in advance, offering participants the opportunity to join races, connected with other users from all over the world. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned athlete, these public sessions offer a level playing field for all fitness levels. It’s the perfect opportunity to challenge your friends, measure yourself against new opponents or simply enjoy the collective energy of the Kinomap community.
Private multiplayer sessions
Private multiplayer sessions offer a more personalized experience, allowing users to create their own events and specifically invite people of their choice to take part. Whether you want to organize a workout with friends or family, Private Multiplayer Sessions give you the flexibility to tailor your experience to your needs. You have total control over the parameters of the session, including the type of activity, the video and associated difficulty, the start time and the invited participants. The audio chat even lets you chat with the other participants to share a sporting moment in a friendly atmosphere.

How do I create or join a multiplayer session?
Perhaps you haven’t had time to try out Kinomap‘s multiplayer mode yet. It couldn’t be easier, either to create or join a session. Just follow the steps below!
Create a multiplayer session
The first thing you need to know to create a (private) multiplayer session is that you need to have Kinomap followers and followers to be able to invite them to your sports session; in other words, you need to have friends who follow you and whom you follow in return. To find friends, click on the Feeds tab, then on the icon at the top left of the screen. If this doesn’t work, please contact our support team.
Once you are following users and have ‘followers’, find the video of your choice, then click on the black button to the left of the yellow START button. Set a date and time, invite all your followers or select specific followers, and finally click on the yellow VALIDATE button.
Join a multiplayer session
To join a public or private multiplayer session, go to the “Challenges” tab in the application.
Public sessions can be found in the Event Sessions menu. Check that your equipment is connected to the application, then click on the session to join.
To join a private session that you have scheduled or to which you have been invited, scroll down to the bottom of the Challenges page, to the “Your multiplayer sessions” menu. You’ll first see the upcoming sessions, then the completed multiplayer sessions.
In both cases, you can join a multiplayer session up to 15 minutes before it starts. When you enter the airlock, warm up while you wait for the session to start.
